Complaints Procedure
With our 100% satisfaction guarantee and our excellent customer service we believe that there will be very rarely be a reason to complain, but if you do have such a reason, then we can confirm that we will acknowledge such complaint within two working days and will treat it with the utmost importance.

Send any complaints to sales@rps.co.uk. We will endeavour to resolve your problem within three working days.

Refund policy
RPS and CICO Books reserves the right to refuse any order or part of an order, or to require further or better information to enable it to evaluate or process the order. 

We rely on the accuracy of the shipping details you give us and cannot accept liability for late or failed delivery if these is incorrect.

For UK delivery, in accordance with The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (as amended), if you are not completely happy with any item you have purchased from us, for whatever reason, please send it back for a full refund of the purchase price. Please note that you will be responsible for the delivery costs of returning the product(s) to RPS & CICO BOOKS other than where the product(s) received are damaged or faulty. This guarantee is good for 7 days from the original delivery date providing the items are returned undamaged and in the same packaging as despatched. Please email us at sales@rps.co.uk and let us know that you would like to return an item(s) before you return anything. We advise customers to acquire proof of posting from the post office, or to send goods by special delivery. Once we have received the goods the refund of the purchase price will go to the purchaser's credit card. In the unlikely event that you received damaged or faulty goods we will issue a full refund including the costs of post and packaging.


Making a purchase
Browse the site, and if you see a product you wish to purchase, click on the ‘buy’ button next to it.
You can remove items, or indeed completely empty your cart at any time by simply clicking on the appropriate button.
When you have chosen all the products you want, click the ‘checkout’ item and follow the instructions for purchasing the items that you have chosen. You can check the items in your shopping cart at any time by simply clicking the ‘view’ button.

The site uses a login and password system, which means that returning customers will not have to re-enter all their personal information. and re-ordering will be a lot quicker. However, if you do not wish to register you can still make purchases. Please bear in mind, that if you do this, you will need to re-enter your details again every time you order from the site.

We endeavour to keep items in stock, however if an item becomes unavailable for supply we aim to remove the item from our website within 24 hours. If you pay for an item which is out of stock we will endeavour to ship it within 21 days of the order being received.


What are my delivery options?
We deliver in the UK via first class mail or courier; we aim to deliver within 14 working days of receipt of payment. However due to us contracting third party delivery companies we cannot guarantee delivery within this time.

We currently deliver to the following European countries; we aim to deliver within 21 working days, however due to us contracting third party delivery companies we cannot guarantee delivery within this time: Austria, Belgium, Channel Islands, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland.

Can you deliver to a PO Box number?
Regrettably, for security reasons we cannot do so.

Paying for your order
   We accept major credit and debit cards which show the Visa, Mastercard, Switch or Delta symbols.
Where an item incurs VAT, the price for each product shown – when compiling your cart - includes the VAT, so there   is no additional charge to pay.

   Postage charges are added at the checkout page once you have entered the location for delivery. We calculate postage charges using a weight system and we aim to be as accurate as we consider possible with passing on postage charges to our customers.

The checkout page shows the VAT included within the products - and chargeable on the postage - on one line. We use a system that calculates VAT on postage pro-rata depending on the proportion of VATable items within each delivery. 

Postage charges are calculated at the point of checkout.

Our Terms of Trading

Risk and Title

Risk of damage to or loss of any particular goods supplied by Ryland, Peters & Small and Cico Books ('us', 'we', 'our') to the customer will pass to the customer on delivery of those goods at the notified delivery address. We may deliver the goods by separate instalments. Any delay shall not entitle the customer to terminate or rescind the agreement unless such delay exceeds 200 days, (or such other period as is agreed in writing with us). Title and property in any goods, including full legal and beneficial ownership, shall not pass to the customer until we have received full payment (in cash or cleared funds) for:

(a) those goods;

(b) all goods deliveredand to the customer under this and all other contracts between the customer and us. 

If by the due date for payment or on the happening of any event within Clause 2 we have not received (in cash or cleared funds) payment in full of the price of any goods, we shall have the right at any time until we receive such payment in full, to retake possession of those goods. Until title in the goods passes to the customer, the customer shall hold the goods on a fiduciary basis as our bailee; and so far as reasonably feasible store them separately from all other goods of the customer or any third party and label them in such a way that they remain readily identifiable as goods supplied by us; maintain the goods in satisfactory condition; and keep them insured on our behalf for their full price against all risks. We shall be entitled at any time to require evidence that the provisions of this Clause are being complied with, including without limitation to require access to any of customer's premises at any time during normal working hours to inspect goods supplied by it.

6. Insolvency

6.1. If:- (a) the customer makes any composition or arrangement with its creditors, becomes subject to an administration order, or (being an individual or firm) becomes bankrupt or (being a company) goes into liquidation (otherwise than for the purposes of amalgamation or reconstruction) or;

(b) an encumbrancer takes possession or a receiver is appointed of any of the property or assets of the customer; or

(c) if the customer, being a trade customer, ceases or threatens to cease to carry on business; or

(d) we reasonably believe that any of these events is about to occur then without prejudice to any other right or remedy available to us, we shall be entitled to cancel the agreement or suspend any further deliveries under such agreement without incurring any liability to the customer, and if the goods have been delivered but not paid for the price shall become immediately due and payable.
